Student Profile

The CRSIM program is a journey that’s challenging and rewarding for our students. The majority of our students have previous medical experience such as nursing or physical therapy. Often these students look to massage therapy to expand on previous education, yet find more fulfillment outside of a typical clinic setting.

In addition, many find the immediate relief they give clients via massage to be self-rewarding, leading to better overall job satisfaction.

Touching another human is an incredibly intimate experience. To be successful massage therapists, students need to be accepting of clients and open to the healing power of touch, regardless of body type or personality. We feel that the Costa Rica experience, which forces students to be surrounded by different customs daily, aids students in learning about and practicing acceptance.

If you don’t feel comfortable interacting with a variety of people and body types, or traveling to a foreign, Spanish speaking country, we recommend exploring other training programs or professions in medicine.
