The homestay lets students connect to Ticos on a very intimate level, and enhances the Costa Rica experience. The trust built almost instantly in the homestay helps our students advance in their massage therapy training at a faster pace. Those interested in advancing their Spanish find the homestay facilitates the best opportunity for learning.

Tico Families
Our supporting families are truly interested in hosting and sharing an authentic Costa Rican experience. Some households have children and we will do our best to accommodate your preference. In general Tico conservative family values mirror those in other Latin countries. Children often stay in the home until they are married, sometimes into their early 30s. Some extremely important family traditions you may get to participate in are; baptisms, communions, engagement parties, weddings and funerals.

The Home
Host families provide clean, secure lodging for students during their stay. Our students will have a private room in their Tico household. Bathrooms may or may not be private. And bed linens are provided, so you only need to bring a towel. You'll be given a key and are welcome to come and go as you please.

No Chores – Enjoy Your Free Time
We know our students spend many hours focused on training. But we also want them to relax and enjoy free time. This is why our homestays include 3 meals a day, and once a week laundry and maid service. With no domestic concerns students are free to explore Heredia, San Jose and beyond.
